Teen 2 Teen Program

Teen 2 Teen is a youth based program that was founded in partnership with John W. North High School’s Law and Protective Services Academy (LAPS). The LAPS Academy Seniors are provided public speaking training and equipped with the tools needed to inform their peers about traffic safety issues. The students involved with the program interact with police department personnel, gain an increased ability to speak in public, learn leadership skills, and explore different areas of traffic safety. We are always fundraising for the programs our students participate in. Currently we are trying to earn funds for a study tour to Washington DC for the seniors and to Sacramento for the juniors. If you would like to help, click here for our fundraising page

Events & Programs

Tree of Life

In December of each year, the Teen 2 Teen students hold a Tree of Life program at North High School. The event encourages students to pledge not to drive impaired or get in a vehicle with an impaired driver over the holidays.

Presentations are made in classrooms and at lunch. Over 400 students and teachers pledge and on the last week of school, during a lunch presentation, students that pledged are entered into a drawing. A Christmas tree decorated with photos of young people that have died in an impaired driving collision is placed in the arcade. The Teen 2 Teen students chose names from the pledges and the winning students pick a present from under the “Tree of Life” while again being reminded to make wise choices. Gifts are donated by the Inland Empire Alarm Association.
